2017 NaNoWriMo: Title Contest

On Tuesday, I officially announced my status as a participant in the 2017 NaNoWriMo as  a NaNo Rebel. I will be using NaNoWriMo to jumpstart my first book, a biblical theology of women. This is not an easy task by any means and NaNoWriMo will be just the beginning.

Part of participating in NaNoWriMo means I need a title for my book. I have struggled to come up with a title, so now I am turning to you: my blog readers. For the rest of October I am running a contest to come up with a working title for my first book. If you’re interested in reading my book, this is a contest you’ll want to enter! The composer of the winning title will receive a digital copy of my NaNoWriMo manuscript at the end of November. If that titles makes it to the publishing house (someday), you will also receive a free, signed copy.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Read the working description here.
  2. Come up with a title that would draw you in or peak your interest if you saw my book sitting on a shelf.
  3. Leave a comment below with your title idea.
  4. Lie in wait until November 1st at 2 pm EST when I announce the winner!

The contest will be closed for entries on October 31st at 12 pm. You have until then.

Get ready… get set… TITLE!

  1. I thought of the title: Women, “For Such a Time as This” or That?

That was the first off the top of my head. If I went into a book store, being a Christian, that would give me the idea that a Christian more than likely wrote it. That if so, it would most likely be a clean decent book. The “or That?” Would peak my interest. In my head, I think it could be about women in BC days, AD and up to now a days, both godly and ungodly and how He used them and therefore how He could use me.

  2. Women: “From the Rib to the Table”
Thought about from Adams rib and Matthew 26:7 when, I believe it was a Mary, that anointed Jesus’ feet as He reclined at the table.

  3. Wonder Women: A Biblical Study of Real Superwomen

Real Feminism: The Creator’s Purpose for Women

Tears in the Garden: Women’s Special Role in the Gospel Story

Of course, subtitles can vary, based on what direction everything takes you.

  4. Women at the “Cross” Roads.
I was praying for Baylee and a few other gals this morning and praying for them that He would meet them at a cross point of their lives where they would be able to say, “I was doing such and such and He opened my eyes, He met me there, that very day”. I think about what women were doing when He met with them, at the point where they chose to believe and obey.

  5. Dare to be a godly women: a study of great women in the Bible.
Biblical feminists: a study of faithful women and how God used them in His Word
