During 2018, Brittany from Brittany’s Pages and I will be teaming up and doing a virtual book club. Depending on our schedules, we’ll be reading at least one book a month, and you are invited to join us! Each time we start a new book, we will both announce it on both of our pages. When we finish the book, we will also post our reviews on the same day, and share links to each other’s reviews.
We’re really excited about this, and the way it will allow us and our friends from around the world to connect and read books together! We hope you will join us in the fun this year as we read through lots of great books. And if you post a review, please let us know so we can share the link to yours (and so you can do the same for our reviews)!
The first book of 2018 is the highly anticipated Artemis by Andy Weir. I have looked forward to reading another book by Weir ever since I finished The Martian. It has received mixed reviews, but I plan on coming to the novel with an open mind. When an author writes a bestselling hit, it is easy to attempt to compare his or her subsequent book to the popular one. However, I firmly believe that unless a book is next in a series, each book by an author should be taken in its own right. I am not expecting Artemis to be anything like The Martian and looking forward to reading Artemis as a brand new book in its own right.
